What is a dental implant?

Dental implants are total tooth replacements for loose teeth, missing teeth, or teeth that cannot be saved from decay or infection. In general, dental implants are the answer for any teeth that need to be entirely replaced!

The dental implant itself is the titanium post which acts as a replacement root sitting in the jaw, like the root of a tooth. In fact, dental implants are a very similar shape to that of a natural tooth’s root. The dental implant has an attachment inside which allows the top of the tooth to screw firmly into them, recreating a natural looking, healthy tooth. When multiple teeth are missing, multiple dental implants can be used to replace more than one missing tooth.

We don’t always need one implant per tooth. Loose dentures can be attached to dental implants to make your dentures stable and firm. Dental implants can enhance your smile, improve your chewing ability, and prevent the pain of dentures rubbing against the gums.

Dental implants are the most effective way to replace your missing teeth and return your gums, teeth and smile to their best!
